First Night at Home

by Alisa

The first night home with a new puppy is a stressful, but exciting,
experience for both puppy and raiser. It is the puppy's first night away
from his brothers and sisters so not only does he have to sleep without
them, but in a crate all by himself. if you're lucky, you will get a puppy
who sleeps through the night. But, realistically, don't plan on getting much
sleep those first few nights! For the raiser, that first night is usually
spent running the puppy outside to "get busy" every two or three hours and
listening to it howl, bark and whine the remainder of the night. But, every
time you agitatedly open that crate door to let the monster out, you are
greeted by a wiggly little puppy wanting to cover you with kisses!
