Level 1: Introduction (age 2-4 months)

This level consists of patterning the puppy into commands with some hands on and luring to teach positions. Correction is used in this level.  This level should be done in a controlled environment with minimal distractions such as home, back yard, quiet calm locations.

Level 2: Basic (age 4-7 months)

This level consists of some patterning of the puppy into commands with some hands on to teach appropriate positions.  Correction is used in this level.  This level should be done in an environment with moderate distractions such as bank, store, not during prime hours, park with mild activity).

Level 3: Intermediate (age 7-12 months)

This level consists of 80% understanding without patterning, lures or hands on the puppy. Correction is used in this level.  This level should be done in all environments.

Level 4: Excellent (age 12 months- in for training)

This level consists of 95% understanding with no help from the handler other than verbal command and appropriate hand signal. Correction is used in this level but should be minimal.
